10. Industrial Remnants

At one time the sounds coming out of the factories would have been dominate as you walked along the street. Now you have to search for them. This factory is located between the river and a stand of box elder trees as if nature is about to swallow it up. Its steady beat is barely discernible among the street noises and the sounds of nature.

Comments:
Another interesting recording with staccato-- this time between a cardinal and percussive machine strokes.

What factory? What are they making? What are the machines doing? Not that you have to answer these,. but the questions are raised.

If one is drawn into careful listening, does the bird need to be mentoned?

Did you know at the time that this was an interesting situation? I often don't, but I try to get 2 minutes if there's even a slight chance.

Does it _sound_ like nature "is about to swallow [the assembly plant] up?"
